Tommy’s Real Estate is proud to announce our new partnership with Life Education Trust. Operating within the heart of New Zealand education, Life Education Trust educates our youth on how to ‘reach their potential’ through ‘embracing positive choices for a healthy body and mind’.
1988 saw the beginning of the Life Education Trust program in New Zealand operating from within two mobile classrooms in Auckland and Christchurch. Over 30 years later they are now travelling across all parts of New Zealand, headed by their well-known ambassador Harold the Giraffe. While the bus has had a few upgrades over the years, Harold and the team at Life Education Trust have been a constant for children in New Zealand, always combining their unique blend of theatre and information to educate kids in a truly special way. Some of our agents who came to check out the new mobile classroom felt they were transported back to their childhoods.
“It was so special to see my daughter captivated by Harold, I’m sure I was the same at her age. It was magic!” Tommy’s agent Jason Lange.
Life Education Trust are passionate about providing awesome resources to children and schools to help guide them with some serious topics that are becoming increasingly relevant for kiwi families. The Healthy Harold Programme delivers individualised health and wellbeing learning experiences in primary and intermediate schools. Their specialist Educators provide engaging and memorable lessons in the iconic mobile classroom using unique technology and resources.
In secondary schools they provide interactive Theatre-in-Education programmes designed to explore learning points through relatable scenarios and workshop elements encouraging conversation. After these sessions teachers are supported to provide extended learning in the school classroom. SMASHED Project explores the dangers of underage drinking and helps young people develop strategies for resisting peer influence. SMART$ provokes thinking and conversation around every day financial decisions and opportunities impacting young people.
It is a privilege to be able to give back to such an amazing organization that supports our local communities across New Zealand. Thanks Life Ed!
