Now firmly established in the ranks of sales people working from Tommy’s successful Wellington City office, Barry O’Brien has sold multiple houses right across the financial spectrum. Barry was a foundation member of Pelorus Real Estate when that company opened for business in 1999 and for 13 years was engaged with success in commercial real estate sales and leasing. His move into residential real estate followed his perception that there are more opportunities in the residential arena for him to pursue with Tommy’s and it is a sector of the real estate market with which he has a close affinity.
Barry’s working career embraces some 30 years in sales and marketing and he has won various sales awards for his achievements. He has run his own companies and has managed significant numbers of employees; evidence of his ability to relate to people, understand their needs and to manage their expectations. Barry has proven negotiation skills; a quality that is so important in today’s real estate world.
Whilst working in the commercial sector, Barry developed his expertise in sourcing and selling development opportunities and this experience seems certain to flow through to the residential arena with resulting benefits for his clients.
A resident of Ngaio/Khandallah for much of his life and a family man with 3 daughters, Barry knows Wellington and understands the housing needs of the people. He has a keen interest in sport and is a past president of the Mount Victoria Lawn Bowls Club, and a current member of the Collegians Cricket Club.
